dovecot-postfix software package provides mail server delivery agent stack provided by Ubuntu server team, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dovecot-postfix
dovecot-postfix is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dovecot-postfix package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dovecot-postfix *
You will get with dovecot-postfix package name, version, architecture and description in a table
